Experience: Environmentally Sensitive Sites

For more than 25 years now, Hunzinger Construction Company has served as Construction Manager for the development of the 75 acre grounds and multiple music venues, stages, vendor buildings, support structures, and infrastructure and site development requirements for Summerfest – The World’s Largest Music Festival™. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, shoreline restoration and sensitive environmental issues had to accounted for in the development of the park given its proximity to water.

As all projects were undertaken on an abandoned landfill site, Hunzinger’s project team worked closely with Milwaukee World Festival staff and environmental consultants to develop an approved materials management plan to address any spoils from construction that had to
be disposed of at a licensed landfill. It should be noted that the team was able to develop approved methods of utilizing spoils at various on site project locations thus minimizing the amount and expense of off site disposal.

Given our breadth of experience in the development of world class commercial buildings on sensitive sites and site grading and infrastructure work, we believe that we can join your project team as a valued partner and exceed your expectations.
