The Improv comedy club at The Corners of Brookfield opens this weekend with a series of performances by Steve Byrne.
The new venue at The Corners was announced in 2019 and is scheduled to debut Friday. Byrne’s first set is booked for 7:30 p.m.

The venue in the town of Brookfield is the chain’s first Wisconsin location. In all, Improv has 25 locations, according to its website.
Improv’s club in Brookfield is 13,049 square feet. The venue is at 20110 Lower Union St. on the lower level of the northeast side of the retail development. The club has two live performance stages and offers full food and bar service.
The venue’s menu includes options such as loaded fries, nachos, pizzas, salads, sandwiches and a selection of desserts.
Broadway producer Budd Friedman founded the chain in 1963 as The Improvisation. Over the years, Improv has played host to scores of well-known comedians, including Billy Crystal, Lily Tomlin, Jerry Seinfeld, Jamie Foxx and Dave Chapelle.
Levity Live, an entertainment company, owns the Improv brand.
Improv’s debut is one of two upcoming tenant openings at The Corners. The retail center recently announced the addition of Indulgence Chocolatiers, which is expected to open this fall.
The Corners is a 750,000-square-foot complex that includes restaurants and retailers, as well as luxury apartments. The lifestyle center opened in 2017 and is anchored by Von Maur, Sendik’s Food Market and Homestore and Silverspot Cinema.
