Building The Future Together

On Friday night, December 12th, Hunzinger Construction Company held a holiday party for employees and their families and a great time was had by all. The party was held at our Hunzinger Construction University Building (affectionately known as H2) and had a Winter Wonderland theme.

There was a delicious dinner of chicken and ham, herb mashed potatoes, homemade macaroni and cheese, roasted carrots, Caesar salad and fresh fruit.

Hunzinger held its first ever cookie exchange which was both fun and tasty. There was a Hot Chocolate Bar hosted by Joyce Hunzinger who proved to be a wonderful and efficient “mixer” of coffee and cocoa drinks. A Family Photo Booth was staffed by Laura Jane Photography and many took advantage of the opportunity to take some cute Holiday card photos.

Santa came for a visit and had lots of little ones share their Christmas lists and wishes with him. He gifted them all magical reindeer food and reindeer chocolate bars and almost all of them promised to be extra good until Christmas! Once they had visited with the big man, there were plenty of games and crafts to keep them busy and entertained.

As part of the holiday party, Hunzinger held a Toys for Tots drive, collecting hundreds of toys that were brought in by employees on Friday night. In addition, some employees also donated a second time through our Charity Jeans Program. On Friday night, so many toys were collected that the U.S. Marine who attended the event on behalf of the U.S. Marines Corps., who sponsors the program, had to leave without them all because they wouldn’t fit into his vehicle. We made a special delivery on Monday morning to their distribution facility to ensure safe and timely delivery.

“It was a great party and it is particularly meaningful for us to have our employee’s families come together to celebrate the holiday season and thank them for their continued dedication to Hunzinger Construction Company. It truly has been memorable year for us as we celebrated our 108th year in business and were honored to receive two awards for our community building efforts. We were recognized by The Biz Times as Corporate Citizen of the Year Award and The Daily Reporter as their Humanitarian of the Year,” said Kevin O’Toole, Executive Vice President, Hunzinger Construction Company.
