Building The Future Together

At Hunzinger, we firmly believe that it is our charge to be an active community partner with organizations whose mission is to help others. Hunzinger’s Principals John Hunzinger, Jim Hunzinger and Kevin O’Toole have developed a robust community outreach program of support and encourage all Hunzinger employees to seek opportunities that share their passion. Being actively involved in our community provides everyone at Hunzinger Construction Company the opportunity to be thankful for what we have and an opportunity to give back.

John Hunzinger, President, P.E., has served on numerous not-for-profit and community-based organizations over the years including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Zink the Zebra Foundation, Wheaton Franciscan/Covenant Healthcare Board, Marquette University Construction Management Advisory Board, Milwaukee School of Engineering Corporate Board, and the Safe and Sound Advisory Board.

Currently, John is on the Board of Directors for NuGenesis Farms, Inc., based in Stone Bank Wisconsin and on the Milwaukee Repertory Theater Board of Trustees.

NuGenesis, founded in 2010 by three-time cancer survivor Kathy Bero, is a non-profit organization working to prevent disease through education, sustainable agriculture and research. They work to enrich lives through food choices that maximize health and prevent disease and are creating a community-based model of education, sustainable agriculture and research centered on food as medicine that can be replicated worldwide. It has three major goals: Prevent Disease; Improve Disease Outcomes; and Reduce Health Care Costs.

They are currently planning their 2nd Annual “From Garden to Table Gala” which will be held this spring. For more information, check out their website at www.NuGenesisFarm.org or call them at 1-800-969-3588.

“I encourage all our employees to get involved and give back to the community. I can say that my experiences have been incredibly rewarding and interesting. You learn so much as you extend outside the immediate scope of your professional interests. You meet new people and learn about things that you never would in your normal business day. I like the idea of getting outside your comfort zone and helping improve the community in which we live,” explained John.
