Building The Future Together

Hunzinger Construction Company will begin work April 18th on an extensive renovation and addition to the Hunger Task Force Granary located at 9000 South 68th Street in Franklin, WI, transforming it into a visitor’s center with administrative offices for Farm staff.

This approximately $1 million project is made possible through both public and private donations and will take place over the next 5 months.  The Farm will remain open and fully operational throughout the project. Hunzinger is serving as Construction Manager for the project that was designed by Arcint-Architecture of Milwaukee.  The project has minority and women contracting goals of 20% and 5% respectively.  Milwaukee County owns the property and the Hunger Task Force is the operator and tenant.

The 200-acre Hunger Task Force Farm not only grows and provides fresh produce to area food pantries, but it also serves to educate Milwaukee children in farming, nutrition and healthful cooking. The completed Visitor Center and administrative offices will allow The Farm bring its mission to many more people.
