Hunzinger staff celebrated with the Milwaukee Brewers and Delaware North as Miller Park’s revamped concession stands were unveiled for media, special guests and local dignitaries. The Brewers say the $20 million concession makeover is the largest upgrade that has been made to the 16-year-old stadium.
Hunzinger served as the general contractor for the revamped concession stands that “completely transform” the food and beverage offerings at Miller Park, and include 11 new concession stands with a heavy emphasis on local eateries and beverages. The renovations were paid for by the Brewers and Delaware North, the team’s concession partner.
The project, designed Uihlein Wilson Architects, spans all seating levels of the ballpark and reflects the rich architectural history of Milwaukee. Hunzinger self-performed concrete and carpentry on the project and installed state-of-the-art equipment in the permanent concession stands and portable locations to enhance the quality of the offerings while providing 33% more points of sale for faster service. The right field side of the Loge Level hosts an amazing “Local Brews” Bar that features 30 taps serving craft beers from across Wisconsin
Other new food offerings include tacos and mac and cheese. The new concession stands host familiar area restaurants including Zaffiro’s Pizza, AJ Bombers, Smoke Shack, and Holey Moley doughnuts. The restaurants are operated by Hospitality Democracy, a local group which is co-owned by Marcus Investments. Some of those names previously had a presence at Miller Park but in out-of-the-way locations. This brings them front and center in the park’s most important gathering areas.
This fast-tracked project was completed within 6 months and is completely ready for Friday’s Exhibition Game against the Chicago White Sox. Hunzinger is proud of the construction team we assembled for this stunning renovation which included Uihlein Electric, JM Brennan for plumbing, Total Mechanical, Boelter, Lemberg Electric for all the signage, Metro Welding, Flux Design and KMI Construction for masonry.
