Building The Future Together

On Tuesday, October 18th, Hunzinger Construction Company held its annual Q3 awards recognition reception at the recently completed The Badger Meter Customer Experience at the World Headquarters located at 4545 West Brown Deer Road in Brown Deer, WI. Hunzinger served as the General Contractor for this beautiful 21,840 square foot interior renovation that creates an amazing customer experience product showcase within the existing facility.

In keeping with Hunzinger’s high standard for quality craftsmanship, over twenty years ago, we established a company-wide Total Quality Management Program called Q3. Q3 simply reinforces our mission statement of “Do the Right Thing” when dealing with employees, subcontractors/suppliers and clients. This effort encourages employees to continually examine how Hunzinger delivers services and empowers them to make recommendations that improve the way we work.  Employees are also encouraged to bring new quality control initiatives forth for evaluation, consideration and implementation. Successes are celebrated and become a regular part of the project delivery system for all future projects.

As part of our Q3 initiative, we solicit nominations from our employees of clients, subcontractors, and fellow employees who have demonstrated an exemplary dedication to excellence and illustrated the qualities outlined in our Total Quality Management program.  This year, we received over 60 nominations that are reviewed by our company owners and recipients are selected. Thirteen Hunzinger employees, 6 subcontractors and two owners were recognized with Q3 Awards.

The night began with Jim Hunzinger acknowledging our wonderful hosts and incredible client, Badger Meter.  He presented Badger Meter and project designers, PRA, with framed photos of the project to commemorate its success.  Ray Serdynski of Badger Meter welcomed the group including other Badger Meter executives Brian Rogers, Rick Johnson, Randy Schmitt and Danielle Slotke. Marty Choren, Partner at PRA, talked about the incredible teamwork and cooperation it took to complete the Customer Experience and thanked fellow team members for a job well done! Other PRA architects in attendance were Mark Herr, Patrick Griffin and Simmi Urbanek.

Hunzinger awarded Greg Peterson of BMO Harris Sports & Entertainment Corporation a Q3 Award for his leadership as owner of the Bradley Center Service Yard Renovation project because it was apparent from the design phase commencement that Greg had put in a massive amount of time and coordination to develop the scope for the project. During the design phase, Greg’s expert knowledge of the Bradley Center was vital to finalize the Construction Documents and provide the correct scope at the lowest possible cost.  Overall, he was incredible to work with!
