Empower is located in the Chase Tower at 111 East Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, WI. Hunzinger Construction Company was selected to serve as general contractor for this 65,000 SF interior Class A office build out of the 8th, 9th and 11th floors for this growing financial services company that partners with financial professionals nationwide to deliver innovative products and services focused on addressing the needs of investors for retirement income, life insurance and investments and providing financial solutions to businesses. Perkins + Will, Chicago, were the architects of this project that was extremely fast-tracked and completed in only 10 weeks.

Hunzinger crews completed selective demolition, rough and finish carpentry, masonry, concrete decking and all interior glazing work. Hunzinger proactively managed our subcontractors to work as a team to meet the aggressive schedule as any aspects of the project had to be coordinated during off hours and weekends due to the daytime occupancies of adjacent office floors and the broadcasting studio of WUWM radio station. The project included multiple private offices, conference rooms and team rooms, IT rooms, Main Distribution Facility/Independent Distribution Facility Rooms/UPS Room, 6 restrooms, 3 break rooms and 3 stunning elevator lobby areas.

“All the subcontractors on this project were outstanding and the primary reason for meeting the incredibly short schedule and making this project such a huge success. We were always out front and proactively planning every detail of the work. The execution was fantastic as all the workers got along and worked very well together in a true collaborative effort. Every person took great pride in their work, brought a positive attitude to the job and were team players above all else. It’s a huge plus and it makes a big difference when everyone is on board and we are all working together. This job got done because we had an incredible team working around the clock to ensure this job was completed on-time and within the schedule’s aggressive parameters.”
