Make-A-Wish Wisconsin is now located at 11020 West Plank Court in Wauwatosa, WI.  Hunzinger Construction Company was selected to serve as general contractor for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin’s 10,000 SF office build out.  After years of planning and months of searching for the “right” space and location, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, the nonprofit organization that grants the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses, has opened its new chapter office in Wauwatosa.  The move places their offices closer to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, an important partner of the organization, and creates more space for growth.

This extensive office build out was designed by EUA with M&M Office Interiors completing the interior design, space planning and providing all the furniture for the new offices.  The primary intent of the planning and design always put the children and their wish experience at the forefront, so the project included drastically improved parent-child interaction space, a large secured “toy” closet for the wish kids and a large storage space to help support their outreach and fundraising activities.  The project also included new work stations, offices, restrooms, a conference and video training room, volunteer work area and break room and welcoming lobby. Hunzinger self-performed all rough and finish carpentry, some selective demo, masonry and concrete work.

Wish Garden
Hunzinger self-performed all concrete work for the project.

The Wish Garden for children that visit the office was a dream from the beginning.

John Bergstrom & Bergstrom Automotive Family, David J. Frank Landscaping Inc. and Giuffre Brose Cranes, Inc. were all champions of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin that made the garden possible.

President & CEO of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin

“Working on this project has been incredibly rewarding because as a MAW volunteer for over 15 years, I have seen first-hand how impactful and life-changing a wish can be. These kids and their families deserve to have the best experience possible and I feel honored to play a small role in that effort. Hunzinger has a long relationship with Make-A-Wish going back over 20 years. Hunzinger has granted over 106 wishes to date.”
