Bayshore Towne Center – The Lydell Garage (East Parking Structure) is just off Silver Spring Drive on the east side of the mall in Glendale, WI.  Hunzinger served asConstruction Manager for this massive reinvention of Bayshore Mall.  The 21st century makeover and creation of the new Bayshore Town Center included the construction of 13 new buildings that were integrated with parts of the renovated structures of the existing mall to create a pedestrian-friendly shopping experience. The new center includes over 1.1 million square feet of mixed use space and was designed by Development Design Group (DDG) of Baltimore, Maryland and Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee.  As part of this overall project, Hunzinger built a 1,489 parking stall, parking deck that covers 135,430 SF of ground level area and contains 529,908 SF of total parking area. The four level parking deck was erected in only 68 days!

The Lydell Parking Structure was unique in that it was the first project to be completed as part of the redevelopment.  This structure was a public project and the client was the City of Glendale.  The structure was constructed on augercast piles to be courteous to the neighboring Whitefish Bay residents as traditional hammer-driven piles would have been loud and disruptive.  This structure contains two 4-story links that connect the parking structure to the mall.  During construction, several hazardous materials and underground tanks were encountered and we worked closely with environmental consultants to evaluate and prepare a proper course of action for their disposal.
