Johnson Controls, Inc. Glendale Campus Expansion is located at 5757 N. Green Bay Avenue in Glendale, WI. We served as construction manager for this 698,375 square foot multi-phased commercial renovation and expansion. Gensler, a global design firm with offices in Chicago served as the campus development architect. The project drew international attention as the first project in the world to achieve multi-building LEED Platinum certification.

JCI occupied the campus without any work interruptions throughout the 33-acre project site that consisted of the complete gut and remodel of the 68,830 square foot Corporate North and 59,785 square foot Corporate South buildings, construction of two new buildings, the 229,198 square foot Power Solutions Headquarters and the 29,700 square foot Amenities Building, the addition of an eight-level garage with plug-in ports for electric vehicles, and renovation and construction of JCI’s World Technology Center. Prominent features include the largest solar field in Wisconsin, a separate roof-top mounted photovoltaic system, a large geothermal field consisting of 272 vertical wells, living green roofs, a 32,000-gallon cistern buried underground for the collection of rainwater for the campus’ gray water system, and a unique parking lot covered in porous pavers that allows rainwater to be absorbed and naturally cleansed.

“Your team was not only instrumental in constructing these unique and challenging building features but heavily contributed to the successful engineering and “figuring out” of the building system interface throughout the campus. Leadership, effective management and tremendous belief in the end product were traits that your team employed over 2 years of intense construction activity. We always felt your team had faith in our design of the buildings and that made our partnership with your group all the more successful and satisfying.”
