PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS' LISBON AVENUE CLINIC

Healthcare

Progressive Community Health Centers Lisbon Avenue Health Clinic, located at 3522 W. Lisbon Avenue. Hunzinger was hired as the Construction Manager on their new $11 million facility.   This new, 42,000 square foot, three-story healthcare facility was designed by HGA Architects and Engineers and will increase Progressive’s capacity to service a community desperately in need of health care services.  The project includes an on-site radiology department with full x-ray and ultrasound capabilities, 13 full service dental chairs, 24 exam rooms, 6 ob-gyn exam rooms, 3 specialty exam rooms, a modern medical records department, a multi-purpose health education room and administration offices that allow for the administrative functions to be under the same roof where their services are delivered to their clients.  There is also room for future expansion.

Progressive really wanted to have a positive impact on the neighborhood surrounding the clinic and established a Local Workforce Utilization Requirement that at least 10% of the labor hours be performed by workers that reside within the neighborhood.  Hunzinger met that goal and went a step farther by ensuring that 30% of the worker hours were performed by City of Milwaukee residents.

The project also had established small, minority and women owned business contracting goals of 25%. The project achieved 37% diverse participation.

Hunzinger Construction has been a valued partner during the construction of the Progressive Community Health Center.   Their team’s involvement during the design phase provided valuable input to assure construction costs were aligned with the budget.  The team assigned for the construction phase has been committed to delivering a quality project, on schedule and on budget.  They have provided a safe environment for workers, as well as patients and staff working at the existing clinic directly adjacent to the new clinic.  The team also was instrumental in not just meeting, but exceeding the goals set for local workforce and SWMBE participation.   The Owner’s goals were fully embraced by the Hunzinger team, making them a true partner in making this project a success.
